Ithaca College celebrates 125 years

2 Min. ReadClient stories

Ithaca College is turning 125 years old this year and we were happy to be asked to augment the web team to bring students, professors, and alumni an interactive, engaging website that celebrates the century-and-a-quarter history of incredible connections, people, traditions, and impact!

This project began with three main goals to give the Ithaca College community the ability to:

  1. Participate and engage by sharing their most memorable moments
  2. Learn the rich history of Ithaca College over the last 125 years
  3. Discover opportunities to participate in the celebrations of Ithaca College turning 125

Stories

The stories, images, friendships, and people are what make the Ithaca College community what it is today and it was imperative to allow members to participate and share memories with the community as a whole. We achieved this goal with the Stories section of the site, adding the ability for visitors to the site to post their own personal pictures, videos, and stories for all who visit to see.

Timeline

With 125 years under their belt, Ithaca College has a rich and robust history spanning back to 1892, when W. Grant Egbert opened the Ithaca Conservatory of Music. Visitors to the site can visit the Timeline section to gain in-depth knowledge around the history of meaningful relationships and connections that make Ithaca College what it is today.

Participate

Rounding out the website is the Participate section, where visitors can peruse and stay up to date with all the celebratory events scheduled in and around campus to mark this significant moment in the college’s history.

From Four Kitchens to Ithaca College, congrats and happy birthday! May the next 125 years be just as inspiring and successful as the last 125. The commemorative site was a blast to work on.
